Oliver Tims
Civil Funeral Celebrant in Surrey
I write to thank you most sincerely for making Jonathan's funeral so memorable. Your eulogy and the way in which you delivered it was so genuine that many attendees felt that you must have known Jonathan for some time, which was wonderful. I only wish you had come on to the golf club to heard the many compliments for yourself. This morning I received an email from a very old friend who had travelled down from Cumbria, in which he wrote 'I must say, that was the best funeral I have ever attended, everything was so much a genuine celebration of Jonathan's life — wonderful'. Thank you.

Oliver was the celebrant at my mother's ceremony two years ago and at my father's ceremony last week. He is extremely professional, caring, and appropriately involved in the proceedings. Oliver is passionate, detailed and humorous, and has a great turn of phrase. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a little guidance and help with proceedings at such a stressful time. Thanks Oliver.

'Oliver provided a safe pair of hands when we needed them most. He took tremendous care to get to know the person we had lost; after the service my husband was amazed to hear that Oliver had never actually met her. He is very intuitive which is such an important quality in a Celebrant. Oliver provided invaluable help overseeing the whole service: the writing, the music, the timings, everything. He is a brilliant organiser and communicator and a great diplomat when opinions differed. On the day of the funeral Oliver set the perfect tone, his words were thoughtful and considered, and he managed all the different elements seamlessly. I could not recommend Oliver more highly; he provided us with a 5-star service. I shall always remember what he did for us and am hugely grateful to him.'

'I’m not sure that I can adequately put into words how happy we all were with how things went yesterday. The service was so full of warmth and love. We knew after meeting with you that you’d do dad proud, but it exceeded even our own family’s hopes. Meticulous attention to detail, laughter, smiles, respect, happy reflection and a few tears. It really was a wonderful composition. You made a super job of weaving the family story into the ceremony and your delivery conveyed such a warmth and connection to dad. So many of the guests made a point of saying so, which is the greatest compliment.'
Sadie, Ewell
'Thank you so much for taking Ruth's service. We thought it was absolutely perfect, and you were brilliant. Thank you also for singing 'The Lord's my shepherd' so beautifully—you have such a lovely voice. I really don't know what we would have done without you.'
Anne, Surbiton
I just want to reiterate my sincere thanks for conducting the most beautiful and fitting service today. From when we first chatted about how it might run, you have honoured and supported my hopes and wishes. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so very much for ALL your input.

'Thank you, Oliver, for your special touch, you made a difficult event so much easier and it was clear you are passionate about your work and put 100% commitment into it. You summed up our dad perfectly and he would have been really pleased with it all.'
Jane, Kingston upon Thames
'I and everybody who attended the Service of Celebration thought how wonderful and impressive it was. Your words, the music, the poem and the prayers conveyed the message perfectly. I thank you very much—and on behalf of everybody else.'
Monika, Reigate
'After meeting with you and briefly reading your draft for Mum’s funeral, it made it much easier for me to write my tribute as I knew that you would tell the story I wanted to say, but could never have got through it in one piece. There were friends and acquaintances at Mum’s funeral who thought that you were a member of the family, due to the way you conducted proceedings and spoke so beautifully and knowledgeably about Mum. Thank you so much for being an integral part of the proceedings. It meant a lot to us.'
