As an independent Civil Funeral Celebrant, my role is to create a ceremony tailored to the specific character of the deceased and the wishes of their family. That means you have genuine choice: some clients want an entirely secular ceremony, but many wish to include religious elements such as hymns and prayers (which I am happy to write), or to reflect spirituality with no reference to a specific religion.
